In the winter of 2020/2021, the Tax Section undertook the responsibility of updating and maintaining the State Tax Guide inherited from the military. This guide serves as a vital resource for military personnel involved in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, particularly those required to navigate state tax laws across various jurisdictions without comprehensive training on the subject.

Each state was adopted by volunteers from the Tax Section who diligently updated the guide to ensure its relevance and accuracy.
