Daniel S. Rubin and Brian P. Corrigan will be presenting at the New York State Bar Association Trusts & Estates Law Section 2023 Fall Meeting on the following panels. Robert M. Harper, is co-chair of the meeting.

Friday, September 29

10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. | Effective Gift and Estate Tax Planning with Maximum Permissible Retained Powers

Transfer tax planning would be easy if clients were willing to “just give it away,” but human nature is such that most clients demand a more nuanced approach to their transfer tax planning, whereby they’ve retained the   maximum permissible amount of control and enjoyment.  This presentation will examine what powers and rights can permissibly be retained by the donor without unnecessarily exposing the transferred property to creditors, and without causing the transferred property to later be taxed as a part of the donor’s estate.”

Panelist: Daniel S. Rubin, Esq.

Saturday, September 30

10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. | Considerations in Structuring Settlement Agreements

11:00 a.m.- 11:50 a.m. | Tax Implications and Other Consequences of Settlement Agreements

Panelists: Brian Corrigan, Esq.
