These challenging times are affecting government at every level. The local governments of suburbia will respond and adjust through new planning initiatives and collaborative efforts. The Sixth Annual Fall Training Conference is designed to present for your consideration new approaches and ideas as well as traditional skills training. With the challenges of the economic downturn and climate change upon us, new information and approaches illustrate ways these challenges may be met.
Our partners, Charlotte Biblow and Anthony Guardino will be presenting the workshop at 7:30 p.m., Updates in Municipal and Land Use Law; also RLUIPA and Eminent Domain update. In this workshop they will review recent changes in the law and court decisions that affect local municipalities, zoning law and land use. Also, a review of religious instiution’s landuse rights (RLUIPA) and eminent domain since the City of New London decision.
This training conference is broken up into two programs – afternoon and evening. Registration for the afternoon program will being at 3:30 pm. Workshops will begin at 4:00 pm and end at 6:00 p.m. The evening program’s registration will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a light buffet dinner will also be available at this time. County Executive Thomas Suozzi will provide welcome remarks from 7:00 p.m. and conclude at 7:30 p.m. The evening programs will be held from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
