Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services – Kathryn C. Cole
September 07, 2021
Kathryn C. Cole is a partner at Farrell Fritz, P.C., the practice group leader of the firm’s commercial litigation group, a member of the firm’s management committee and a founding member of its eDiscovery group. Cole’s experience with commercial litigation cases — including claims related to contracts, product liability, torts, consumer and securities class-actions — spans the federal and state court systems, federal agencies, regulatory bodies, and arbitration and mediation forums.
Cole anticipates the legal industry will continue to become more technologically sophisticated, more open to innovation and more agile.
“This is driven by various factors including the demographic shift caused by retirements among Baby Boomers,” Cole said. “With younger, more tech-savvy individuals succeeding to leadership positions, I anticipate a greater comfort with, and reliance upon technology.
“Additionally, the global pandemic caused the legal industry to accept change,” Cole noted. “Law firms have embraced legal technology, alternative legal service providers and other novel approaches to operations. Remote work, in particular, caused many firms to embrace technological change at a more rapid pace than we would have absent external forces. I think these changes are here to stay, and I suspect firms will be more willing to embrace technological experimentation going forward.”
