September 21, 2010
In one of the largest office leasing deals so far this year, Marchon Eyewear has taken 76,000 square feet at 201 Old Country Road in Melville.
The company, one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of eyeglasses and sunglasses, will use the space as its global headquarters. Marchon markets its products under designer names such as Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Nautica and Michael Kors. The company employs about 2,300 people worldwide, with about 500 on Long Island.
Ray Finkelstein of United Realty and attorney Peter Curry of Farrell Fritz represented Marchon in the deal.
Owner Grand Metro Builders, headed by John Cacoulidis, was represented by Daniel Dornfeld of Dornfeld & Nasis. Grand Metro acquired the 217,000-square-foot building in June through a mortgage auction.
