Farrell Fritz Attorneys Appointed to Several Boards

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — According to Farrell Fritz, P.C. Ilene Cooper, a partner in the Trusts and Estates Practice Group, has been appointed to the house of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association. The control and administration of the New York State Bar Association is vested in the House of Delegates, the policy-making body of the association.

Cooper was also elected Secretary of the Suffolk County Bar Association. The Suffolk County Bar Association provides its members with continuing legal education, information about the law, programs to assist lawyers and judges in their work, and initiatives to improve the legal system for the public.

Cooper’s appointment to the House of Delegates will be effective as of June 1, and her appointment to the Suffolk County Bar Association was effective as of May 6th.

In related news, Peter Curry, a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group, has been appointed general counsel for the Downstate New Region of the SIOR.

Curry’s appointment was effective as of April 12th.

Lastly, Wendy Forrest, an associate, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Women On The Job (WOTJ). WOTJ is a not-for-profit employment rights and education advocacy organization. WOTJ also provides technical assistance to employers who want to enhance their knowledge of the needs of working women and make their workplaces free of employment discrimination.

Forrest’s appointment was effective as of April 19th.
