About Josh
Josh Kalish is a partner in the Corporate practice, specifically focused on the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) space.
Josh is a commercial-minded attorney with a strong sense for the drivers of early- and growth-stage businesses. His background includes a broad range of transactional and general counsel experience, including early- and growth-stage equity and debt financings, strategic partnerships, M&A, technology development and licensing, founder dispute resolution as well as corporate governance and outside general counsel advisory work.
His unique blend of experience–having served as both a trusted outside advisor and an in-house General Counsel–provides sophisticated perspective that he draws upon to advise companies and investors at various stages of capital formation and growth, and ultimately, through exit.
For the last five years, Josh has been a partner at the ECVC-focused boutique law firm Odell Girton Siegel, where he developed diverse client relationships across the technology and startup ecosystem. Josh spent the first six years of his career as a corporate associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, before serving as General Counsel to two technology startups in New York City.
Based in the firm’s New York City office, Josh has a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he served as an Editor of the Cornell Law Review.
