Three Associates Join Farrell Fritz

Toni J. Hoverkamp, an Aquebogue, NY resident, is an associate in the firm’s real estate, land use and municipal departments. She is resident in our Hauppauge office and will also work in our Bridgehampton office.
Ms. Hoverkamp’s practice focuses on representing purchasers and sellers in residential and commercial real estate transactions, institutional lenders in providing various types of financing to borrowers, private developers in obtaining financing for development projects, private developers and investors in joint venture negotiations, and landlords and tenants in leasing transactions.

Prior to joining Farrell Fritz, Ms. Hoverkamp was a commercial real estate associate at Herrick, Feinstein LLP. Prior to entering law school, she held positions as a trial preparation assistant at the District Attorney’s Office for New York County and as a paralegal at Ackerman, O’Brien, Pachman & Brown LLP in East Hampton.

Ms. Hoverkamp received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Stony Brook. As an undergraduate, she interned at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

Ms. Hoverkamp is a member of the American and Suffolk County Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Spencer L. Reames, a Forest Hills, NY resident, is an associate in the firm’s trusts and estates department. He is resident in the firm’s Uniondale office.

Mr. Reames concentrates his practice in estate planning and estate litigation.

Prior to joining Farrell Fritz, Mr. Reames was a staff attorney at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler in New York, NY. He was also an associate in the Trusts & Estates department at Davis Polk & Wardwell and a law intern at the New York State Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District, Second Department.

Mr. Reames earned his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. He received two Bachelor of Arts degrees, in English and Philosophy, summa cum laude, from St. John’s University.

Mr. Reames is admitted to practice in New York State. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Adam M. Rafsky, an Astoria, NY resident, is a first year associate resident in our Uniondale office. He conducts legal research and analysis and drafts research memoranda, memoranda of law and supporting documents, pleadings, and discovery devices and responses. Mr. Rafsky is a contributor to Farrell Fritz’s NY Commercial Division Case Compendium blog.

Previously, Mr. Rafsky was a law clerk and summer associate at the firm. His other legal experience includes an internship in the Investigations Division, Public Integrity Bureau, at the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office; litigation legal assistant at Davis Polk & Wardwell and an internship at the Law Offices of John R. Gulash, Jr. & Eugene J. Ricco.

Mr. Rafsky earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was a merit scholarship recipient, a Notes & Comments Editor on the St. John’s Law Review (2010-2011) and a staff member (2009-2010). While in law school, Mr. Rafsky won the Internal Negotiation Competition and was named the “Outstanding Advocate” of the competition in the spring of 2010 and was a finalist in the spring of 2009.

Mr. Rafsky received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Psychology from Colby College. Mr. Rafsky studied at the University of Sydney in Australia.
