Jason S. Samuels, a Roslyn Heights resident, is a partner in Farrell Fritz’s commercial litigation department with a concentration in construction law.

Prior to joining Farrell Fritz, Mr. Samuels was Principal of Jason Samuels, P.C., a law firm practicing construction, surety and real estate law. He represented contractors, owners and developers in all aspects of construction, including negotiation of large scale new construction and renovation project agreements. In addition to transactional construction work, Mr. Samuels successfully prosecuted and defended claims on behalf of clients in various New York Federal and State Courts, as well as in alternative dispute resolution venues.

Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Samuels was Vice President and General Counsel of a successful mid-size general contracting and construction management corporation.

Mr. Samuels serves on the Legislative Committee for the Subcontractors Trade Association (STA).

Mr. Samuels earned his Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of Business for the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a History minor from the State University of New York at Albany.

Mr. Samuels is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. He is admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Mr. Samuels is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Byron Hakimi, a Great Neck resident, is an associate in the firm’s commercial litigation department, concentrating in construction and real estate law.

Mr. Hakimi has represented general contractors, sub-contractors and owners on a wide array of disputes involving large-scale commercial projects, including breach of contract claims, mechanic’s lien foreclosures, diversion of trust fund claims and construction bonding claims. His experience includes pre-trial proceedings in state courts, including motion practice and discovery, as well as appearing at the Environmental Control Board and criminal courts to defend clients against various construction related violations.

In addition to commercial and construction litigation matters, Mr. Hakimi has been involved with commercial and residential real estate closings, drafting contract documents, forming business entities with the NYS Department of State and registering trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Hakimi earned his Juris Doctor degree from Pace University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Business Administration from the University at Albany.

Mr. Hakimi is a member of the New York State Bar Association. He is currently admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
