Afternoon Session 1 – 2:10 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax: Ignore At Your Peril” presented by Jed Albert. This session will cover the fundamentals of this tax and also several common generation skipping tax problems.

Afternoon Session 2 – 3:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“Planning to Avoid Litigation” presented by John Morken. Steps taken during a testator’s life can reduce the chances of a will contest and protect the objectives contained in estate-planning documents. The focus of the discussion will be on:
– recognizing the telltale signs of a possible contest
– developing the testamentary plan
– communications with family members and others concerning the testamentary plan
– use of in terrorem clauses
– use of lifetime trusts
– avoiding construction problems
