The “bursting of the real estate bubble,” the “sub prime lending crisis” and the recent rise in foreclosures have been the hottest topics in the financial media of late. Many analysts predict that the real estate market is in for a rough and unpredictable future, at least in the short term. A new wave of distresses real estate situations may be around the corner on both the residential and the commercial sides.

This timely program has been designed to assist the practitioner in advising clients faced with their own or their tenants’ or mortgagors’ loan defaults, foreclosures and bankruptcy filings. The faculty for this program, comprised of a panel of experienced real property law and bankruptcy practitioners, will provide insights, analysis, updates and practical tips for those working in this area.

This program will cover:
– Rewriting and working out the problem real estate loan
– Recent developments in the law of mortgage foreclosures
– Mechanics’ liens
– Bankruptcies of distressed real estate projects, including, the stay, financing, assumption and rejection of leases and contracts and confirmation issues
