Landlords’ rights … tenants’ rights … non-payment … evictions … the fine print of lease agreements: many kinds of disputes can arise in a rental situation, and many will evolve into full landlord-tenant trials. On the East End, disputes may emanate from ordinary house or apartment rentals, through rents of high-end mansions, through complex multi-party summer rentals, etc. This program will examine statutory and case law and will provide tips for representing both property owners and renters. Panel discussions will alternate with mock trial demonstrations, keeping the program lively, accessible and relevant.
