A Gift from Alexa

One of the first projects initiated by our firm’s pro bono committee involved reaching out to a new group that was interested in helping families with autistic children. One of its founders was a neighbor of Farrell Fritz Partner, Robert Sandler. A colleague from the firm’s Tax practice group helped set up the organization, known as A Gift from Alexa, with tax-exempt status in New York.

Bob and the associate helped the organization incorporate and obtain federal and New York State tax exemptions. The group now raises funds and provides much-needed grants to cover medical, educational and other expenses for families on Long Island with autistic children.
